Eek! It's fuzzy Fizzy, looking for me! Quick, hide!

Hello there Uncle Fizz! I'm still around, still good. Been generally busy and a tiny bit uninspired lately, hence the long absence. But all is well here! Olivier is trying out new words, which often almost makes us pee, laughing so hard.

Spent ages at the town hall today, trying to have my passport renewed. O, the agony. Turned out our (Olivier's and mine - he's in my passport) photos were not good enough, not close enough. Hello! I had his taken at a photographer's! Gah. So we had to get new ones, trudge back to city hall again, wait and wait and wait.

It is a generally known fact that almost-two-year-olds are not that fond of waiting. So there I was, trying to converse with the passport lady (who was new, BTW, and wasn't at all sure about the regular procedure, so it took even longer because she had to ask her colleague every two seconds), trying to keep Olivier amused at the same time, and when that failed, setting him loose and then having to run after him about a million times or he'd have run out through the sliding doors (LOOK mama, sliding doors!) right onto the street. Believe me, I was sweating profusely when we were finally able to leave.

Mission accomplished. I need a nap. O, you know what else is fun? When I go pick up the new passport, I have to take Olivier *again*, or I won't get it. What is it with these people?!

Anyway. How was your day?

You know what? Pieter's out, Olivier's in bed.

I think I'll just wait until kidlet is fast asleep and then I'll take a long, hot bath. Must make sure he's really fast asleep though, or he'll insist on joining - no can do. Check, check, double check.

Autumn is the time for long hot baths. With lots of bubbles so one can't see one's body and go 'holy shit, cover up, cover up'. Ha.
