Nynke Johanna

Tuesday 27 February 2007, 9:03 pm

Nynke Johanna She's here! Our daughter Nynke Johanna, born today, 27 February 2007, at 5:37 am, after a very speedy delivery of three-and-a-half hours... We're both doing very well (already came home again from the hospital this morning) and are slowly getting used to each other. More pictures to follow soon, I took this one with my cellphone!

Very happy and very relieved. :-) Am now going back to bed, to a slightly hungry girl, if I judge those sounds correctly! ;-)

fed up

Saturday 24 February 2007, 03:46 am
I'm soooo fed up with this whole waiting game, the waking up in the middle of the night bit, the false starts. And the fact there's nothing I can do to change any of it... Ugh. I hope I'll have better news soon. Until then, I'm maintaining radio silence here, because there's only so much posts one can moan in before things get ugly. So: talk soon, hopefully!

due

Friday 23 February 2007, 11:03 am

Yup, today is my due date. But so far, nothing! I had good hope (again) last night, but alas... However, there are still a good number of hours to go this day, who knows what can still happen...

insomnia

Saturday 17 February 2007, 04:01 am

It's that time of night again - the one where I can't sleep. So I'm finetuning StarrySheep, which is a very useful thing to do in the middle of the night.

For example, I don't like how deleted comments still show up in my 'Last comments' section. Had the same problem with the previous version of Pivot, I seem to remember. Hmm. You know what? Maybe I should leave that one for tomorrow. ;-)

Still no baby, by the way (as if you hadn't guessed, heh). Another false start this evening - we even took Olivier to my sister for a sleepover. Oh well. Good dress rehearsal, that. Plus, they say that all this preliminary work will make the actual delivery go that much easier. Eh. We'll have to see about that.

welcome

Friday 16 February 2007, 09:51 am

Hello and welcome to - new style! About time I reed a bit don't you agree? :) And now that I'm sitting here waiting for the baby to be born (39 weeks today...) there's not much else to do anyhow...

With a very special thanks to the team for making it all possible!

So! I hope you'll enjoy this new look and come back often!

testing this version

Just a quick post to test this new version of - see if I can actually write something and have it show up, too!

38 weeks

Friday 09 February 2007, 9:44 pm

the new baby's doll 38 weeks... and still growing.

Meanwhile, I'm slowly getting a tiny bit bored. I haven't been outside for days (no, three steps in the garden to feed the robin don't count, and neither do the five steps it took me to get the garbage can back in from the street), because walking is just a bit too much of an effort. I've finished the new baby's doll, the house hasn't been this clean in years, reading all day isn't all it's said to be, and neither is . Anyone got any cool sites for me to peruse on the ? Because I think I've all seen mine... about three hundred times by now.

Oh, and my pregnancy diabetes seems to have magically disappeared! Or maybe it wasn't there in the first place? We'll probably never know. I'm still keeping to my diet though, just to make sure. And the baby's still a bit bigger than your average kiddie. But I'm not going to think about that. Too much. ;-)

P.S. Labour's not going to be induced at 40 weeks either, now that the glucose levels are back to normal. So I could still be moaning and waggling for... weeks?! Ugh! Not going to think about that either!

37 weeks

Friday 02 February 2007, 09:22 am

37 weeks and counting...

Being monitored by internist, diabetes nurse and gynaecologist... Will hopefully have more news next week. If it were my call, I'd say: induce labour now please! I want - no, need - to be able to walk again instead of waggle, sleep instead of moan all night...
