After a long internal
debate (Do I like playing online with others? Hm. Not sure.
But if there are people who are like me, my age, who have lives and
families of their own, who like RPGs and who don't necessarily have to
play all day/night long, this might be fun) I finally
succumbed to the beauty that is
Guild Wars. At least, I hope it's a beauty.

It'll get here next week.
I've joined the
Dutch Guild Wars site
- hopefully I'll find kindred souls there! I could do with a good
roleplaying romp. Though it's more hack'n slash than roleplaying. Never
mind - it looks beautiful. And it's about time I played something that
is not Sims 2... Plus, no news as yet on
Dragon Age. So you see - I had to take the step!

It's *gorgeous* outside! At least ten centimetres of snow! I wanna go
out and roll in it / build igloos / take an hour long moonlit snow
walk... who wants to come over and babysit??
P.S.: Birthday boy got so many presents it's a wonder he's sleeping at
all... Three cars, a tricycle, a garage, a floor puzzle, two boxes of
Duplo bricks, a Miffy book, a Miffy bath puzzle... Good thing we
dismantled the playpen this morning or we'd have had to move house
again!

Happy birthday
sweet little Olivier-who-likes-stuffing-his face-with-cake!

I've never been to Brussels. Being the Art Nouveau lover that I am, I
think that's more than silly. And now, there's a
Little Nemo In Slumberland exhibition in
La Maison Autrique
(also known as the Victor Horta House), showing the original plates. So.
I HAVE to go! Let's make it a long weekend! Soon. And let's take mum
and sis, too. Yeah!

Look what we've got! A
bit too late... But I think I'll forgive the weather gods just this
once!
P.S.: I think this is a much better picture than the one that was here before.

I don't feel like it'll soon be Christmas. At all.
Even though I did all the food shopping early this morning, before the
rush. Even though the lights in the Christmas tree are on. Even though
Olivier and me are going to see the daycare centre's Nativity play this
afternoon.
What we need is snow. But somehow, I don't think that's going to happen...

Ahem. This moving to another registrar thing is going rather more
slowly than I thought it would. I'm now scheduled to move on December
24. As good a day as any.
Hey, isn't it funny? Eight more days until Olivier's second birthday -
I just cannot believe it! Big boy's almost finished with his teeth (two
more canines to go), is running around like Speedy Gonzalez and mimics
every single thing I say, so we're going to have to severely limit the
bad words.
O! And the neighbours from hell are moving! Finally! I thought it'd
never happen! Which means .... *drumroll* we'll have a quiet Christmas!
Yesterday, sitting on the bus home, I saw a lady outside picking up her
dog's poop (which I thought was extremely good of her, since most
people hereabouts don't bother) and chide it for having dropped it
precisely there in the first place, and the dog just looked up, long
nose pointing (it was a Dachshundsy kind of dog) and looked so... not
remorseful. It made me giggle out loud. Hee.
Anyhow. Have a merry merry Christmas all of you (not that there's many
of you, as this weblog must've almost reached the upper level of
boredom by now), with lots of light and festivities!

Hey, I'm still here! Cool.
Anyway. P.S. part 2: Happy 5th year anniversary to Pieter and me! Today exactly 5 years ago we "got involved"! (I always think the whole getting involved thing sounds so silly. But maybe that's just me. And I can't think of another phrase right now anyhow. Brain's still too befuddled.)
P.S. part 3: Totally unrelated, but... If you can, you really should go out and read something by Cate Dermody (current title: The Cardinal Rule) or (same author/website, different name & genre) C.E. Murphy (current title: Urban Shaman).
She's my number one favourite author at the moment. Her heroines are incredibly strong and witty, her prose is sparkling, and well... she's just got everything I look for in an author. Plus: there is romance, but it's not the driving force behind the book. Just a hint of it, enough to make you want to know more. So go! Buy! (I know, I know. Shameless promotion of my company's books. But believe me - these are worth it!)

P.S. I'm going to push the button
now. *fingers crossed*
In the meantime, if you'd like to reach me, please use this --> meikemuis AT xs4all DOT nl
Thanks.

I'm thinking of moving my site from one registrar to another. Because
I'd like to have my site and domain and email all in one place. And
also because I dislike the pop under ad in particular and the flashy
ads in general my current registrar is stuffing down my throat each time
I access my webmail.
So. If service is disrupted in the next few days, I'm not dead. I'm just moving.
Monday 05 December 2005, 1:51 pm
Phew. It's the eve of
Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) here today, and Olivier gets to go to his daycare centre for an hour or two to celebrate. Which means I'll have to wake him up early from his afternoon nap. Not something I'd normally do, but well. There are exceptions.
But because of all this, I've been in a rush all day. Ridiculous, as the fun doesn't start until 2.30 PM. Biked to sis, biked back through rain and hail, stuffed Olivier with milk and bread, brushed his teeth, bed bed bed, vacuumed downstairs, unloaded the dishwasher, scrubbed the bathroom upstairs... and oh! I should remember to eat and drink or else! Narrowly avoided the monster headache there.
Sigh. Why do I make things so difficult for myself? And what to eat for dinner tonight? Let's ask Pieter. Hip hurray, chili it is!
*giggle* <-- manic

God, how I love this weather! Yesterday I uprooted almost every ugly
plant in our front garden. Olivier pottered around nearby, bundled up
in his winter coat and the scarf that omi oma Gerda (his great
grandmother) knitted for him, dragging small and not so small pieces of
plant and occasionaly hefting them over our fence.
After that job was done, we moved to the back of the house and I
threaded peanuts on a wire for the birds while Olivier raced around on
his car.
When we got back inside, we both had red noses.
