New York City Nights: Success In The City

Sunday 28 August 2005, 10:35 am

New York City Nights So... I never really understood the appeal of playing games on your cellphone. I have to admit, being unable to locate them on my relatively new phone might have had something to do with it... *blush*

But's that's all in the past now. I've got New York City Nights: Success In The City. Hurray! It's almost as good as taking your Sims with you. Almost. ;-)

Addendum: Except that my phone apparently can't handle it. Crashes all over the place. :-( Not fair!

(P.S. Does anyone know when the Sims 2 for mobile will be released?)

Dijk

de Dijk Rain, thunder nor hail will scare us away. But jesus, those hailstones were BIG!

(Yesterday evening; concert of Dutch band de Dijk at open air venue Caprera, Bloemendaal.)

grilling Suits

Thursday 18 August 2005, 09:13 am

Good god. I am so tired that when I was descending the stairs at the station just now, I thought 'it's a good thing there's gravity in this world, I can just let myself be pulled down.' Go with the flow.

And all those people just starting their working days, looking chipper. The restaurant boys, cleaning their grills and baking trays. The Suits with their laptops and attaché-cases. And me, always feeling slightly bedraggled in this chique big office building affair, with my casual, five year old not quite fitting red-purple-and-maroon (what I call camouflage) clothes.

Do you think I would be happier (and chippier) if I started walking dogs for a living? Dunno. That would probably get old soon, too. But this whole office thing just feels wrong, sometimes.

tallships

Tall Ships. I just think that's an incredibly beautiful two words, don't you? Tallships (even better when you write it as one word). Yes, definitely sounds fantastic.

'What will you be doing today?'

'O, I'm just popping out to go see me some Tall Ships.'

Wouldn't that be grand. Unfortunately, no such thing is going to happen, as, even though the weather's beautiful, I hate crowds (I should have been an recluse) and besides, it's a working day.

Damn shame, though.

alone

It's the strangest feeling. Olivier's at daycare, and I'm at home - a whole day to myself!! What to do?

*grins* I'll ponder that question over coffee and breakfast. I think some shopping will definitely make it on today's To Do list!

bubble

Thursday 11 August 2005, 09:34 am

I feel things bubbling inside of me. Maybe I will write that book. There's snatches of conversations swimming around in my head, looks and walks are being stored, and my fingers itch.

Unfortunately, there's also my day job and the little guy, which makes for... well, not enough quiet time. And: if I were to write, it'd have to be in English - which, although I'm reasonably fluid, is not my native language. Dutch is not an option for the genre that I would write in. And I haven't got any proof readers! Not that I'm at that stage yet. So... I suppose I'll just dream on...

P.S. Wish I'd be able to make such clean design: Fluffy Monster

Plus, that must be one of the coolest URLs I've ever come across!

dragon age Warning: geek post ahead!

Do you think this will be ready in time for Christmas? I, for one, cannot wait. This may just be what all of us RPG-fans have been waiting for. :-)

And of course, with a title like that, my dragon loving heart beats faster just thinking about it.

Wheep! Food!

Monday 08 August 2005, 09:36 am
Oh god. The guineapig! *rushes outside to the shed where guineapig is currently staying because of friend's visiting cat*

Phew. It's still there, still alive. Now let's get it some food...

(What? I spent most of yesterday cleaning the house, I've got a toddler running around, there's a cat visiting, I can't think of everything, can I? At least I got it food yesterday.)

:-)

hats and rain

Sunday 07 August 2005, 09:24 am
It is absolutely amazing how fast time goes by without anything whatsoever happening. We work and play, wipe noses and give consoling kisses and we try to install some measure of well-behavedness into toddler brains. Which is no easy task, let me tell you. ;-)

In between, we *finally* found that Art Nouveau hat rack we were looking for. (Is that what you call it in English? Or is it coat hooks? Both do not really do it justice, IMHO... :-))

And outside, it continues to rain. I don't mind much. As long as it doesn't rain inside my head.
