Will you look at the yummy new character screen... gorgeous, isn't it? Still enjoying myself, but no Guild as yet. Argh. I'm about to give up hope... :-(
§ ¶ Dinsdag 17 Januari 2006 ~ post Searing
Moyra and me have made it into post-Searing. The destruction and devastation is impressive. So much is lost... You recognize the places, but where once was green is now brown. Dust and ashes, fallen debris. Very nicely done. The gameplay is *hard* though, for a measly 9th level Mesmer / Elementalist. I made it through the first mission in one piece, but it took me three tries and some hints besides. Whew. I now definitely need company. Henchies have served me well, but it's just not the same. Still looking for the elusive Dutch Guild... There have been many other offers, but... § ¶ Donderdag 12 Januari 2006 ~ ready to go...
Yeah! I've got two characters ready to dive into post-Searing... There's Moyra Athluviell, level 8 Elementalist/Mesmer, and there's Moyra the Mad (the name's a story in itself - harks back to my good old Baldur's Gate Backroom days, when my handle was Moyra the Mad, Bad and Cute... *grins*), a Warrior/Ranger with a Melandru Stalker as pet, who's *this* close to level 8. :-) One more quest to go in the Catacombs, and she should be all set too.
Still looking for a Guild to join though. One night in Ascalon I saw a girl recruiting new members for a Dutch over 25 Guild (their tag was ONE), but I hesitated too long and I haven't seen her since... damn! I'll just have to keep looking, I guess.
What also struck me: the amount of misbehaviour and/or juvenile flaming really is almost non existent, in my experience. Sure, there's some infantile talk going on every now and again, but that's easy to ignore. And so far, no one has been harrassing *me* yet. I like this game. :-)

Hm. Maybe I'll switch to Elementalist after all, instead of Ranger. I LIKE her spells! Am currently trying out the Elementalist / Mesmer combination, but I'm not quite sure about that one. Though Mesmer spells are pretty nice, too. I especially like the life-draining one (can't remember the name right now). But the armour... the armour rate of course is almost non-existent for classes like that. Hm. What to do... § ¶ Zaterdag 07 Januari 2006 ~ see?
There we are. Moyra Athluviel, Ranger, ready to go whack some beasties - er, monsters. I do have shots without the face mask, but not this close up. And I would really like to find some dye to customize her a bit further, but so far haven't found any.
But boy, it's a gorgeous world out there! Now if only I had some travelling companions...

It's here!! Installing it was a breeze, as was creating my first character. Now all I have to do is find out how to change the camera view and take screenshots, and then I'll be able to show you... Moyra Athluviel! :-)

Before ordering, I'd been wondering for quite some time if Guild Wars was the right game for me. I've never played a multiplayer online game. I've got these visions of hordes of teenage boys ruining the experience, flaming others to hell. And from what I've been reading, Guild Wars is no exception on that account.
Except that I'm hoping to find a Guild that has normal people in it, who play for fun and not to harass others. So, if one of you is reading this (fat chance, in this far out corner of the Web ;-), feel free to leave me a message!
